Sisters of The Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education
The Sisters of the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education is an undergraduate organization. We are here to encourage the leadership and empowerment of young women, both inside and outside the classroom, through the support provided by our sisterhood.
The Sisters of the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, also known as Sisters of Sophie (SOS), was recently founded in 2014. Currently, Sisters of Sophie continues to expand, promoting self-esteem, integrity, respect, and academic excellence. This is accomplished through group sessions, self-reflections, guest speakers, and information sessions. These activities motivate members and equip them with the skills necessary to reach their full potential.
Our mission is to provide a foundation which instills core values, such as integrity, respect, and responsibility, in young women. Additionally, we hope to implement services women can use to elevate themselves academically, emotionally, and socially. Our ultimate goals are to bestow hope and provide guidance, to women of color, especially to those of black/African-American and Hispanic descent and are interested in medicine.
